Maldron Hotel, Glasgow
This 300-bed Maldron Hotel is the brand’s first in Scotland, delivered under a Design and Build contract in central Glasgow. Completed for £30.5 million, the 12-storey development brings high-quality hospitality to a prominent site close to Sauchiehall Street, the Theatre Royal, and major transport links. Built between June 2019 and July 2021, the project includes a bar and restaurant, business suite, and gym facilities to cater for both business and leisure guests. The hotel achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, demonstrating a strong focus on sustainable design and construction.
The building’s exterior uses red and buff brick, red and blonde sandstone, and cast stone detailing, creating a contemporary reference to Glasgow’s architectural heritage. The result is a modern, energy-efficient hotel that fits the city’s character while supporting its ongoing regeneration. Positioned on the corner of Renfrew and Renfield Streets, the hotel strengthens the central business district, contributing to local commerce and expanding visitor accommodation in one of Scotland’s busiest urban centres.
