Hard Rock Hotel, Dublin
The Hard Rock Hotel Dublin redeveloped the former Parliament Hotel and the neighbouring Fashion House building in Temple Bar to create a 120-bedroom, four-star hotel under the Hard Rock brand. The Parliament Hotel building was restored with its historic red-brick façade and original features preserved. Inside, three floors were refurbished to provide 51 bedrooms, the Zampas restaurant, the Rock Shop, a kitchen, and plant rooms. Structural works included strengthening floors, lowering the basement, and repairing the roof and ornate plasterwork. On the adjacent site, the Fashion House was demolished and replaced with a six-storey building containing 69 bedrooms, reception and plant areas, and the Rock Suite with a private balcony. A first-floor glass bridge links the two buildings. As the site lies within historic ‘Dubh Linn’, all ground works were archaeologically monitored, revealing several interesting finds.
The completed hotel combines high-quality interiors with displays of music memorabilia from Irish and international artists, alongside modern guest facilities. The project has revitalised two important buildings in central Dublin, balancing sensitive conservation with new construction to reflect both the area’s history and its vibrant music culture.
