Lunn's Rolex, 25 Donegall Place, Belfast

25 Donegall Place, built in 1791 by Roger Mulholland, is the oldest surviving building on Belfast’s main commercial street and the last of three Georgian houses that once stood here. Vacant in recent years, it was brought back into use when Lunn’s the Jewellers acquired 25–27 Donegall Place to expand their Rolex boutique, creating a flagship presence alongside Queen’s Arcade. Consarc, appointed in 2022, provided full architectural design, conservation advice, contract administration, and principal designer services. The project extended the Rolex store into the adjoining heritage buildings, reconfiguring the ground floor for retail and adapting upper levels for staff, office, and support spaces. Close coordination with Rolex’s specialist fit-out contractor ensured seamless delivery.

Both 25–27 Donegall Place and Queen’s Arcade are listed, so the approach prioritised retaining the original structure and character. Alterations were minimal, reversible where possible, and sensitive to the Conservation Area setting. A new Rolex clock on the façade adds civic presence and reflects European luxury retail traditions. Completed ahead of schedule for June 2025, the project supports the Living High Streets agenda by bringing a significant heritage building back into use, blending commercial growth with careful architectural stewardship.
