Great Tower Street Boutique Hotel, London

Consarc provided Project Management and Quantity Surveying services for the transformation of 5–10 Great Tower Street into a boutique luxury hotel in the heart of the City of London. This adaptive reuse project converted a former office building into a contemporary hotel that responds sensitively to its historic context.

A retrofit-first approach preserved the existing structure while enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability. A carefully designed extension added an additional storey, introducing a contemporary architectural language that complements neighbouring heritage assets. The hotel’s design features a modern mansard roof with vertical dormer windows, adding both verticality and elegance to the streetscape. Public areas on the ground floor include a bar, restaurant, café, and collaborative lobby spaces, creating a welcoming environment for both guests and visitors. The upper floors offer a variety of room types, including suites with exceptional views of the Shard and the City of London’s Tower Cluster. The project exemplifies a sensitive balance between heritage conservation and modern design, establishing a distinctive new destination within London’s evolving urban fabric.
