City Square House, Leeds

City Square House is a major commercial development located in the heart of Leeds, forming a key part of the wider public realm improvements to City Square. The 12-storey, low carbon building provides 140,000 sq ft of sustainable and flexible Grade A office space, with high-level terraces, generous cycling facilities, and charging points for electric vehicles and e-bikes. The development has achieved BREEAM Excellent and WiredScore Platinum ratings, underlining its strong environmental performance and digital connectivity. It offers what is considered some of the best office accommodation in Leeds city centre.

City Square House is now home to a number of prominent tenants, including global law firm DLA Piper, insurance specialist Markel, and professional services consultancy Barnett Waddingham. Consarc was appointed as local support architect for the project. Our role involved providing architectural expertise throughout key stages of the design and delivery process. We worked closely with the lead design team and local authorities to ensure the building met planning, technical and regulatory requirements. Consarc also contributed to ensuring the development was well integrated within its urban context and delivered to the highest standards. The result is a workplace that sets a new benchmark for quality and sustainability in the city.
