Bank Apartments, Portrush

The Bank Apartments project restored and extended the Grade B+ listed former Northern Bank building on Main Street, Portrush. The scheme created six modern serviced apartments and a ground floor café bar while preserving the building’s historic character. The well-known landmark underwent careful repair, including conservation of the stone façade, roof works, and retention of original architectural details where possible. Inside, spaces were adapted for residential and hospitality use, with layouts designed for modern comfort and accessibility.

A contemporary rear extension provided additional apartment space and improved access. The design ensured the new structure complemented the historic building without dominating it. The ground floor café bar now brings activity to the street, while the upper floors offer high-quality serviced apartments close to the seafront. The project blends heritage conservation with modern design, safeguarding an important local building and contributing to the regeneration of Main Street.
